Massive overhaul of studio begun a week ago and still incomplete as I type. It’s about emptying boxes of ephemera and cataloging — filing each piece of paper… all the while entertaining my grandballoons who make everything fun and worthwhile. Ollie goes to PBSkids.org and plays online while I sort and stack. Emmett dances the Boy Dance, Four Year Old Version, to music only he can hear. Roxie the Muttpuppy can only be outside in the early a.m. and evening hours since daytime is unbearably dog day afternoon status. Maybe Al Pacino will sneak out from under the giant hydrangeas one of these days… or was it Dustin Hoffman? And, if I don’t look it up, google it, will you?
In my possession, magazines from 1910s to 1970s — the nasty-ass moldy ones are carefully culled and nasty parts discarded … the good ones, intact nice magazines, are labeled and shelved. And then there are all the books… the photos… the postcards. The hardest actions here involve NOT stopping to make art and continuing with the sorting.
More online soon, but for now
