The Assem­blag­ist just took the pledge. It was a rather no-​duh moment.

Such pledges sequester well with my re-​use and re-​think motto.

Redesign means rebirth,

or so I tell myself.

It’s imper­a­tive that we, as humans, seek to redesign our cast-​aways. My the­ory is simple -

if there is not a prac­ti­cal appli­ca­tion for “used” items, they must then become ART.

Items uti­lized in the bind­ing or the secur­ing the ada­p­a­tional cre­ation of the recon­structed object may be pris­tine — vir­ginal in fact. This I know is true. One must inten­tion­ally dis­pense new glue and new staples, — it’s dif­fi­cult and damn near impos­si­ble to re-​use sta­ples. Not only is it tedious, it’s annoy­ing and dif­fi­cult for arthritic hands to accom­plish. So excuse me if I don’t recy­cle sta­ples or PVA. PLUS, get this! Office Depot has green, red and blue sta­ples. I kid you not! Col­ored sta­ples! Who knew!?

Ooops, I’m ram­bling again.

After vis­it­ing Whim­si­cal Women last week­end, I knew how my artis­tic head was screwed on…

“Is there a nuvofluxus hand­made pledge?” you ask.

“Not as of yet,” I answer, “but we are dili­gently pur­su­ing such an entity. You, dear read­ers, need to take the Assem­blag­ist Pledge, as soon as one becomes available.”

Oooops, thought-​processes keep get­ting way­laid by Magic Tues­day. Mail deliv­ery, recy­cling pick-​up, trash, and leaf/​detritus pick-​up all at one time. The dogs are wild for Tues­days. It’s dif­fi­cult to blog with such a racket in the back­ground. Bet my neigh­bors really enjoy the sym­phony of howls and barks. You can’t tell it but I just went down­stairs and made the herd come indoors so the neigh­bor­hood could enjoy a few moments of peace and quiet.

May Books for week one

I intro­duced book-​folding to a 12-​year old nubling at the dog park yes­ter­day. Her name is Jor­dan and I gave her about 20 pages of “Ani­mal Farm” and showed her how to fold each page into 8 pages. My lit­tle appren­tice smiled as she worked and in no time cre­ated a fine first effort. She used a por­tion of the orig­i­nal book’s cover as her “book’s” cover. It felt nice to spread the fold­ing word to the next gen­er­a­tion of book-​mites.
