Fluxus Discussed Again

Poo help me but it truly invigorates me to discuss Fluxus.

I waited months for a FB conversation to come around involving more than how absolutely marvelous life is, how great my grandballoons are (truly they are) and “like” buttons creating a non-conversation of approval.

Not knocking the FB experience… ya’ll. Just saying, I wanted more. The days of .alt discussions seemed to wax and wane like the moon and the tides.

My ephemeral character lost its glow.

The cat barfed up a hairball on the keyboard of life and I could add no illuminating echoes.

Without it,

of the comings and goings
of those who
I delight in knowings.

Then, through assemblagist conversations, the fluxlist, and other fantastical word parts, I join the FB Group

Fluxus, Flux, FluxNexus, Fluxxus, or NOTHING discussion.

I think I get it… really truly do try to, anyway.

We can all move on and though Flux but the original Fluxus has been killed, hell — even bastardized — by its inclusion in MoMA but — perhaps we should take it further and say it is now the ultimate Fluxus because of its current state… enshrined in a major institution truly trivializes it.

The Fluxus past movement has inspired me and in a very strange sense, legitimized what I do because I do not sell my work, it’s given away after photographing it. No one seemed to understand this — constantly questioning me “Where is your work sold?” why aren’t you in blahblah gallery downtown? how much is that?, Read More

and the inference? always that non-art is never art because it has no monetary description.

My self-title NuvoFluxus pieces contain bits of ephemera from my past lives and the experiences of those I’ve met– how can I sell it? It is silly and meaningless. The objects themselves, the ones included in the piece, once held a definition but combined with the rest of my life detritus, they are nothing.

I believe (and please correct me if wrong here) that the philosophy of Fluxus continues. The idea of all works being accepted and everything irrelevant is relevant — is that it?

Fluxus has moved on to its next stage, leaving the original behind us. Professional Fluxus? If one accepts that there are no logical truths; one is compelled to answer — Jumbo Shrimp is to deafening silence as Professional Fluxus is to the original disposition of the Fluxus movement.

Am I full of crap here or is there a glimmer of hope?

Forgive me if I offend, I am but a child.
