Collages and Assemblages

Began working on a series of ACEOs today. I’m using ephemera for the design, particularly a September 1954 issue of Woman’s Day magazine. At the time, a copy of the magazine sold for 7 CENTS and it was labeled “An A&P Publication”. I’m thinking that’s A&P grocery store but now my curiousity is in third gear, rounding the hair pin turn into a full-blown Hey did Piggly Wiggly ever publish a magazine? quandry.

Will post images, the ACEO finished products here in a while. Let ‘em dry and such… the hardest part is not in the designing of the cards, it’s in cutting 2.5″ x 3.5″ cardstock. Recently, a friend who owns a framing shop downtown gifted me with her scraps, literally about 50 lbs of discards. These mattes will make great ACEOs but cutting them is going to be my afternoon entertainment. Going to set up the guillotine beside the TV and watch The Young and the Restless while chopping. And for those of you out there who are *tsk tsk* ing my entertainment choice, I began watching All My Children in 1969, back when Phillip went to Viet Nam. Didn’t pick up Y&R until around 1986 when an elderly man recommended it to me as we sat in a doctor’s waiting room. If he liked it, perhaps I should try it… and Stephen King watches soaps, ya’ll.

**FYI, there seems to be no way to regulate the dupicate appearance of Featured Articles within the Blog Posting column on the page. So, Don’t Blame Me, It’s The Sun Spots. I shall endeavor to don my aluminum foil head coverings and see if this helps — next time I post.
